For Burghley House, beginning with drawings from their wild meadows, the design for an ornate Chippendale chair reflects the variety of butterflies which are sustained by it. Each petal represents a particular butterfly. This was hand embroidered by Lucy Martin, translating historic techniques from the Burghley House collections.
